Adapt It is a free open source tool for quickly translating between related languages. We seek to create, as a community, an adaptation tool that will run on all major platforms and facilitate translation of USFM, and collaboration between other translation tools such as UBS Paratext and Bibledit.
Adapt It is created with the following goals in mind:
- Facilitating adaptation (translation between related languages), the primary use case for Adapt It.
- Facilitating the translation checking process, a secondary use case.
- General ease of use. Many of our users are mother-tongue translators with limited computer expertise.
- Cross-platform capability. Adapt It is available for Windows, Linux and OS X.
The Adapt It project is hosted on GitHub. You can browse or download the source code here: https://github.com/adapt-it/adaptit. Adapt It is released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL)
The code is written in C++ using the wxWidgets cross-platform GUI library. More information about wxWidgets can be found here: http://www.wxwidgets.org/
