  1. Launch Adapt It (from your desktop icon, or any convenient way)
  2. Go through the wizard steps to open your last project, and the last worked on document.
  3. Do Help > About Adapt It, and check that the version number shown in the About Adapt It dialog matches the numbers in the downloaded installer file. For example, the 6.5.5 version has an installer file named: Adapt_It_WX_6_5_5_Unicode.exe, so the About Adapt It dialog should display the version number as 6.5.5. If the numbers matched, then you’ve successfully updated to the newer version. (Your previous adapting work is never in any way affected by doing an update to a newer version.)
